A six-port USB-C hub from Hyper was specially designed to clip to the side of the 2018 iPad Pro. It allows every type of wired accessory supported by Apple’s newest pro tablet to be accessed.

After a successful Kickstarter campaign, the HyperDrive 6-in-1 USB-C Hub launched today.

Its maker calls this “the perfect accessory for students, business travelers, and iPad Pro users that want maximum connectivity and convenience in a compact package.”

However, it has a rival. The Satechi Aluminum Type-C Mobile Pro Hub was also designed for the iPad Pro. It’s smaller but includes just four commonly-used ports.

Designed for iPad Pro

Any USB-C hub can be plugged into recent iPad Pro, but the HyperDrive features a brace that help hold the hub to the side of the tablet. This brace is removable, and an extension USB-C cable is included so the hub can be used with a MacBook or other computer.

Hyper built in a 4K HDMI port, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB-A 3.0 port to connect to wired keyboards.

There’s also a pair of SD and microSD card readers. But be aware that, at this point, iOS only supports using external storage to import images and video.

Naturally, the HyperDrive for iPad Pro has its own USB-C port so the tablet can charge with all the other accessories connected.
