HP’s T1190 press plays key role in printer promotion
HP print technology was behind a Back to School/University promotional pack for HP desktop kit.
Germany-based DS Smith-Fulda printed the cakebox designed packaging on its HP PageWide T1190 press. There were 2,000 pieces produced and the promotion ran in Currys PC World stores. The digital print element meant that the speed to market was shortened.
“It needed to be turned around quickly, in high quality with a glossy finish,” said HP consumer trade marketing manager Peter Sarwan. “The bundle is a print starter kit but the job needed to be turnaround quickly. From start to finish the project took four weeks.”
Simon Goldsack, worldwide GSB brand innovation manager for corrugated solutions at HP “It was made digitally because of the time scales involved.”
Guy Thompson, strategic account manager at the corrugated packaging division of HP, added: “This project demonstrates that digital printing is not just about the quality of the graphics but about last minute jobs – it enables you to react quickly to market trends.”
The ‘Grab and Go’ kit includes an HP Envy 5020 all-in-one printer, HP Advanced photo paper and HP Everyday photo paper along with a three month free trial of Instant Ink.
