An Easy Approach To Content Marketing

With the increasing innovation of online advertising, it can be tempting to forego the focused creation of content in favor of spending more time and money on running ads.

While it’s true that building a business without ads is challenging, striking a balance between content marketing and ad-based marketing is, in my experience, key to growing your online visibility and seeing your business subsequently prosper.

However, it isn’t enough to just post content without direction. Without a documented and logical content marketing plan, it’s equal parts luck and chance that dictates your content’s success.

What Is A Content Marketing Plan?

The short answer is that it’s exactly what it sounds like: A content marketing plan is a roadmap for the creation and distribution of any and all content. To be successful, content needs to be created with a direction and purpose in mind. Most importantly, you need to determine ahead of time the topics your content will cover.

That, of course, begs the question: How does a business create a content marketing plan that will be successful? How do you decide what topics need to be covered?

One of the best ways to do this is to listen to what your clients are asking you, and then form your content marketing plan around it.

Easy Approach To Content Marketing

Consider What Your Client Wants To Know

In an ideal world, your product or service is providing a solution to a problem a client has or otherwise filling a need they have. Your content strategy needs to educate your potential customers in identifying the questions they have related to the products or services you offer. In order to accomplish this, you must consider what your client wants to know or get help with.

As an example, imagine you are hiring a lawyer for a personal injury claim. You might go to Google and do a search for “personal injury lawyer.” Think about what else you need to know before deciding whether or not to hire that lawyer. Most of the time, Google will show a box under the search results with a section called “People also ask.” Other questions people ask when searching “personal injury lawyer” are:

• What percentage does a personal injury lawyer take?

• What does a personal injury lawyer do?

• Do you have to pay a personal injury lawyer?

• How much is the average personal injury settlement?

• What types of cases do personal injury lawyers take?
